An idea becomes a reality
It all started when Past President of TVMA, Aaron Rainer, DVM, MPH, recognized several industry trends. First, the desire for work-life balance is creating a new supply of veterinary professionals seeking a new career path with flexible hours — relief practice. With demand increasing for veterinary professionals, other staffing services set out to help. However, we all know how much they cost and the margins veterinarians are forced to pay to find short-term veterinary staffing. Hearing the struggles of his colleagues and the industry difficulties with finding veterinarians to work, Dr. Rainer forged out to create a website that could connect two groups of people more easily without charging astronomical fees to provide the service.
After quickly realizing that he couldn’t build a software concept of this magnitude by himself and still be a practicing veterinarian, Dr. Rainer thought of one person, Clay Farrell. Clay, President of TMGvets, a long-time merchant services provider for veterinarians across Texas and the nation has deep familial roots in veterinary medicine and with his business partner, Nathan Randel, they infused the energy and ideas needed that meshed with Dr. Rainer to create an idea for a revolutionary staffing platform. The team at TMGvets, including Gig’s Software Engineer, Bryan Tomlin, was a vital addition to the company.
Gig’s goals are to keep everything simple. Build a software that’s intuitively easy for the user connecting vets with animal hospitals. Help solve workforce challenges. Most importantly, we want to provide an honest and transparent platform for the veterinary profession where hospitals pay less and veterinary professionals get paid more.
